Sabine Christiansen is a well known German journalist. She is considered a pioneer and role model for the advancement of women in TV journalism. Christiansen is the managing partner of TV21 GmbH, a member of various supervisory, management and sustainability boards for German and greater European companies. She heads the Alliance for Children and the Laureus Sport for Good foundations and is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Germany.
In 1998 Christiansen launched what became the most watched political debate program aired on ARD for the next 10 years. Every Sunday night, the most important political and business leaders from around the world were interviewed. She then became the first German journalist to produce and moderate an international program on the business channel CNBC. For the previous 10 years Christiansen hosted the well known German news program Tagesthemen.
In addition to major media awards, Christiansen was honoured for outstanding community involvement by the Global Women’s Award. In 1999 she was present with the ‘German Woman of the Year’ award. She has also been awarded the Order of Merit and Knight of the French Legion of Honor.
