Since December 2005 Regina von Flemming is CEO of Axel Springer Russia. The Axel Springer AG is Europe’s largest publishing company. Before that she had been vice-president of the private equity fund “US Russia Investment Fund Delta Capital”. She accepted this job position after being CEO of Krone AG. Her employment at Krone AG has been the reason for her return to Russia in 1996. Mrs von Flemming used to live in Moscow from 1988 to 1989 and worked for “Der Spiegel” (a German news magazine) but returned to Germany in the meantime. She completed her studies in Political Science focusing on transformational economy and corporate strategy at the Freien Universität in Berlin and at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (IEP) in 1993. After her studies she has been admitted into the postgraduate program of the German Institute for Development Aid, which included a several months long stay in the People’s Republic of China. After three years working for the consulting company Treuhand Osteuropa Beratung in Berlin (privatization and restructuring projects in central and eastern Europe, but also in China and Egypt) she changed to the St. Gallen Consulting Group, located in Frankfurt am Main.
Mrs von Flemming is fluent in five languages (German, English, French, Polish and Russian) and was board member of the committee for office routine of the German business association (“Verband der Deutschen Wirtschaft” – nowadays called “Deutsch-Russische Handelskammer, AHK”). We are happy to introduce Mrs von Flemming as our new ASTRAIA ambassador and we are proud of finding another female leader to support our work for more justice and an equal world. Welcome to ASTRAIA!
